a waning commercial center is given new life as a school

This renovation transforms a 1969 commercial building’s restaurant space and bank into a Pre-K through 3rd Montessori School. Designed specifically to support the Montessori curriculum, the building includes natural color palettes, outdoor learning, and classroom zones. Each classroom features natural light and an adjacent outdoor learning space, and the renovation includes not only interior renovations but additional windows, restrooms, car line drop off, and fencing. A large gathering area accommodates up to 130 individuals.

Challenges included a tight timeline, fire separation due to a change of occupancy, and meeting Health Department requirements for a Childcare Center.
